Seth from Evergreen Senior Living

Seth: A couple of us found a bunch of split shakes in the forest that had been there for years. We decided we’d ask the guy if we could have them and build a cabin in the back of my folks’ place. We went and talked to him and he said, “Oh what are you going to do?” and we said, “We’re going to build a cabin!” So out in the middle of the great big forest, we had our cabin. We used it for 6-8 years and it was two adults.

Interviewer: How old were you, Seth?

Seth: I was about 11 or 12 years old when we started and I had it until I graduated from high school.

Interviewer: Oh, very cool! Was it like a boys’ club kind of a thing?

Seth: We’d go out Friday night after school and come home Sunday night.

Interviewer: How cool! What did your family feel about it, your parents? Were they happy to just have you?

Seth: It was okay! You couldn’t do it today but back then you could. And the times we didn’t use it, my sisters used it!
